PEANUT

BOO BOO

Boo Boo is a Chihuahua cross we are guessing quite young as in 2-3 years.  He is the result of unscrupulous mixed breeding to obtain the so called rere "blue colour", and which has resulkted in him having Alopecia.

He is totally toilet trained and a very clean little boy.  He is very quiet when inside but if left alone outside he can bark at every sound.  He is definitely an inside dog, which is preferred as he could burn in the heat of summer and feel cold in our winters.

ALOPECIA.  Monty has the blue gene condition of Alapecia

Alopecia in dogs is a genetic fault caused by indiscriminate breeders trying to breed “ blue” dogs. Totally ignoring the fact that alopecia comes through in about 80 percent of the puppies. We have had several over the years and believe you stay away from vets who want your money!! We find the most expensive side of their treatment is the Omega 3 and 6 oil which we squirt on their dinner. We massage them also with coconut oil, and try not to bath them unless they get smelly rolling in something unsavoury. Their coat will grow back to be glossy and healthy, if just a little “ thin”. There is no cure for alopecia, just control. And at any time they can lose their coat. We tend to use sardines or some fish in oil in their stew along with the few squirts of Omega 3+6.

TINY

Tiny a wee pure Chihuahua of almost 4 years.  He does not trust very quickly so patience with him will be a requirement.  He would prefer an older quiet and loving lady or gent who is happy to give him the time to learn to trust and love them - time will be needed. He gives us all a good laugh as he tries to "kill his bed" whenever anyone comes to meet him.  He does know and understand "outside Tiny" but not to be trusted if you dont catch him sniffing as he will pee on his bed and blankets!  Thank goodness they are very small!  He loves to be picked up and cuddled, or to snuggle on your lap under your dressing gown - all in time. TOBY

Toby is the most easy to care for little dog, asked for nothing!  He is now 14 1/6 years old, almost totally deaf - hearing only sharp sounds; showing some signs of failing eyesight; never barks, just likes to sunbake or sleep in a nice soft bed.  For his age he is in surprising good health.  He wanders around the yard, jumps up the two steps to come inside now.  He has never been an inside dog having been locked outside his entire life!  He was very uneasy when he first came here and I would bring him inside - day and night!  In the beginning he had no ideas about the comforts of inside living!  Now he loves to come inside whenever he feels like it and definitely sleeps inside every night!  He has learnt that he is to go outside to toilet or use the big pee pad if locked inside, just took patience and showing him (he is very intelligent!).

KUZEY

Kuzey is what the vet describes as a "blended Chihuahua" We think there is 1/16 th Chihuahua, a bit of Jack Russell, a fair bit of Shih Tzu, a bit of Pug,  and goodness knows what else.  He weighs 6 1/2 kg.  Whatever got together to make him, he is a great little dog!  He is just 7 years (DOB 18/6/12).  Kuzey has had a hard start to life being locked outside all the time.  When he came in to our home he would panic every time I carried him inside!  After four days he began to relax and now he loves being inside in the warm!  Surprisingly he is totally toilet trained and goes in and out our back door as he needs!

MIA

Mia is a beautiful little chubby Chihuahua of almost 7 years (DOB 27/07/2012).  She is the most delightfully well behaved little dog, toilet trained, quiet, gets on well with all other little dogs, bit scared of bigger ones though, not sure of cats.  She would prefer a home with no children under 12 years.  Mia currently weighs 4.9 kg.  She does have a thyroid condition and this requires medication.  When she is on her medication her weight does drop and she becomes far more playful and active (she has been off her medication for quite a few months and is the reason she is so heavy - ideal weight for her build would be approx. 3.5 kg.

Tiny is exactly that - tiny (1.8Kg) DOB 11/1/16. Absolutely NO CHILDREN of any age as we are looking for one or two adults for his prospective new owners. He is basically toilet trained. Does not do much barking and can be very loving towards his chosen one, but very nasty to ALL others!. He gets on well with the other Chihuahuas but would not like to see him with any bigger dog (he is just so small).

WOOFIE

Woofie,  was described initially to us as a Chihuahua cross!  Until he arrived on our doorstep!  Apparently his mum was a Chihuahua cross Jack Russell and his father a Shih Tzu.  Woofie is 8 years old, DOB 13/4/2011.  No matter what he is, he is the most wonderful little dog!  He is quiet, barks when he wants to go outside for toilet and again when he wants to come back inside (if the doors are shut!)  He is not suitable for children under 12 years as he is very strong.  He gets on well with the little dogs here and just ignores any being a bit of a pest!  He loves his daily walks, would prefer to go for two or three actually!  Woofie weighs 9.7 kg currently and ideally could lose one and a half to two kg.
